Dr Tina Siobhan Cohen is a Chartered Associate Member of the British Psychological Society and a Fellow of Advance Higher Education. Dr Cohen has held the position of Senior Teaching Fellow in the Clinical Psychology Doctoral Programme at Surrey University and is currently an Associate Tutor, actively involved in supervision and research through that institution. Dr Cohen is also a member of The Neuropsychoanalysis Association and the Compassionate Mind Foundation. Dr Cohen is an alumni of The London School of Economics, the University of East London, Surrey University and Canterbury Christ Church University.
Dr Cohen has experience in neuropsychology in acute, post-acute and community neurorehabilitation services working with clients with a variety of presentations including traumatic brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injuries, dementia and multiple sclerosis. Dr Cohen previously worked as a Clinical Psychologist at the Royal Hospital for Neurodisability. She found working with people in prolonged disorders of consciousness and alongside their families rewarding and humbling – this is an area of continued interest.
Dr Cohen has provided neuropsychological assessment and treatment for Headway East London and held the position of Lead Psychologist in an inpatient neurorehabilitation Level 2B service. More recently, Dr Cohen has provided neuropsychological assessment to those with long-covid and continues to provide input into NHS outpatient neurology services. Dr Cohen also provides neuropsychological intervention to a neurological care home. She uses an eclectic mix of treatments and modalities in neurorehabilitation and has completed post-doctoral studies in neuropsychology.
Dr Cohen is a compassionate therapist who draws on a varied cultural heritage. She is particularly interested in supporting individuals and families to find new meaning after traumatic brain injury. She is committed to supporting multidisciplinary teams to understand how neuropsychological formulation can support clients and their loved one to live according to their values.
